The Indiana Republican Party has selected Noblesville pastor Micah Beckwith as the lieutenant governor nominee over state Representative Julie McGuire.
She was the choice of U.S. Senator and nominee for Governor Mike Braun.
Braun said after the vote that he is in charge and if Beckwith does not work with him, “it will probably not be as fruitful in terms of what we can get done.”
The nominee for governor also said he wanted someone with legislative experience as his running mate.
