All or part of nearly 150 new laws will take effect on July 1st in Indiana.
Those include the legalization of happy hour, the requirement that schools hold back third graders who fail the state reading proficiency exam, and requiring Medicaid to cover the cost of long-acting reversible contraceptives in hospitals.
Happy hour has been banned in Indiana since 1985 when the state tried to cut down on drunk driving.
