The Indiana State Police are investigating a Friday morning crash between a pickup truck and a semi tractor-trailer on westbound Interstate 70 in Putnam County that claimed the life of one person.
Police say a pickup truck slammed into the rear of a semi tractor trailer that was stopped due to traffic.
The driver of the pickup truck, 54-year-old Norma Rivera of New Castle, Delaware, died at the scene.
Two passengers in the pickup truck, an adult male and a child, were flown to local hospitals in Indianapolis with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a contributing factor of the crash.
