The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says a stolen handgun was recovered early Friday morning during a traffic stop on State Road 67 near Bruce Road.
The weapon was reported stolen in a vehicle break-in in Bicknell Thursday morning.
The driver of the vehicle, 19-year-old Steven Kalbaugh of Monticello, was arrested for Theft and unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon.
A passenger, 18-year-old Blake Navarro of Bicknell, was also arrested for Theft.
The sheriff’s office says it has recently received calls about one other theft from a vehicle and two attempted thefts all occurring in the city of Bicknell.
Detectives are examining cellphone data from phones seized during Friday morning’s arrests.
