Tornado Causes Widespread Damage in Posey Co.

A large tornado passed over the Ohio River into Posey County and Mount Vernon Tuesday night, causing widespread damage, including knocking over a line of railroad cars.

Numerous homes and businesses were damaged.

A Kenco warehouse in Mount Vernon was heavily damaged by the tornado.

The remnants of Hurricane Beryl reportedly caused damage in Gibson County as well while headed north.

Tornado warnings were issued for much of the area last night.
