Man Shot and Killed in Dispute Near Jasper Hotel

The investigation continues today into the shooting death of an Ohio man in the parking lot of a Jasper hotel.

Jasper Police say it happened Thursday at the SureStay Hotel on Wernsing Road.

Police say 20-year-old Jakahri Keyshaun Curry of Macon, Georgia shot 27-year-old Lawrence Jonte Walker of Cleveland, Ohio Multiple times during the dispute.

After the shooting, Curry went back into the hotel where he was later found by police and taken into custody.

Walker was taken to Deaconess Memorial Hospital where he later died.

Police say this is an ongoing investigation and that charging information will be released later.
