Indiana: Property Tax Relief

Hoosier lawmakers say the issue of property tax relief will be addressed during the 2025 legislative session.

But what that will look like remains to be seen.

Indiana House Speaker Todd Huston says right now property taxes are the job of the State Senate.

But he says any property tax relief must ensure local governments have the funding they need to provide services.

House minority leader Phil GiaQuinta says finding alternative ways to fund public education in the state may also help alleviate property taxes.
