A fleet of snowplows from Indiana will help clear the streets of New Orleans following Tuesday’s historic snowfall.
Homeland Security Director Collin Arnold says the city hired 14 snowplows in an emergency procurement.
After clearing the main bridges and arteries, the crews will check with police to find out where they’re needed most.
Arnold says the city will pay 500 dollars per truck per hour for 24 hours, which may be extended to 48 hours.
The city will also pay to feed and house the snow plow crews.
