The suspect who was shot and killed in a Jasper County traffic stop on Sunday was identified Monday as 42-year-old Matthew Huttle from Hobart.
Huttle was recently pardoned by President Trump for storming the Capitol on January 6th.
Both he and his uncle were arrested for their involvement in the Capitol riots but later pardoned.
During the traffic stop, Huttle resisted when the officer attempted to arrest him.
Police say an altercation took place between the suspect and the officer, which resulted in the officer shooting Huttle.
Police also say Huttle was in possession of a firearm at the time.
