The Pike County Prosecutor is recognizing Petersburg Police Officer Taylor Deffendoll for Excelling at Drug Interdiction.
Officer Deffendol’s efforts resulted in the arrests of two Pike County residents, both of whom were sentenced earlier this year.
Laura Bennett of Winslow was convicted of Possession of More Than Ten Grams of Methamphetamine While in Possession of a Firearm and sentenced to 12-years in prison.
Bennett’s co-defendant, James Clint Hughes, was convicted of the same charge and sentenced to 14-years in prison.
On March 30th, Deffendoll assisted Sgt. Paul Collier in the arrest of Joshua Brames of Petersburg after more than forty smoking pipes containing dark residue consistent with methamphetamine were recovered from a garage.
