Jasper Police arrested a Jasper man Sunday after receiving a report that a woman had been strangled and threatened with a firearm at the Sunset Apartments.

The woman was found outside the apartment in the 600 block of Giesler Road.

She told officers the man was still in the apartment with 2 children.

27-year-old Delain Taylor initially refused to leave the apartment, but later surrendered to police.

Police say the two children were not harmed.

A search of the apartment turned up a gun and drug paraphernalia.

Taylor is being held in the Dubois County Security Center on preliminary charges of Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon, Strangulation with a Deadly Weapon, Neglect of a Dependent, Possession of Paraphernalia and Resisting Law Enforcement.
