The National Weather Service is confirming that nearly a dozen tornadoes hit parts of Illinois and Indiana Monday night.
The extreme weather resulted in widespread damage.
Authorities in Northwest Indiana say a woman in her 40’s was killed after a tree fell on her home.
Twisters were even reported at Chicago’s busy O’Hare and Midway Airports.
Over 95-thousand customers were still without power in Illinois, while under 30-thousand remained in the dark in neighboring Indiana Wednesday morning.
