The Knox County Health Department will hold a vaccination clinic for MMR, Measles, Mumps, and Rubella, on Saturday, March 22nd from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Health Department, located at 328 North 2nd Street, Suite 100, in Vincennes.
No appointment is necessary, and walk-ins are welcome.
The MMR is a two-dose vaccine, the first one given at age 12-to-15 months and the second dose at age 4.
Most vaccinated adults are immune to measles and do not need further vaccines.
Individuals born before 1957 are generally presumed to be immune to Measles due to widespread exposure during childhood.
Individuals at high risk of exposure to Measles are healthcare workers and international travelers and may consider a booster dose of the MMR vaccine.
Adults should get the MMR vaccination if uncertain.
The vaccine will be available at no cost.
