Huntingburg Police have updated information concerning their investigation into the deaths of a woman and a child who were found lying on the floor of a residence on Geiger Street on Monday.
Police say fifty-three-year-old Oliva Mora Regalado died at the scene from a medical emergency that occurred from a preexisting medical condition while four-year-old Evelynn Lopez was pronounced dead from injuries caused by a dog attack.
There were six Pit Bulls and one Poodle mix inside the residence at the time.
Police say that for the safety of everyone involved and the preservation of evidence, all dogs were sedated and then euthanized on scene.
The dogs were then transported to Southern Indiana Purdue Agriculture Center for laboratory testing.
At this time no criminal charges will be filed.
