The Indiana Department of Natural Resources) has officially opened nearly 3,950 acres of permanently protected land in Sullivan County known as Busseron Creek Fish & Wildlife Area.
The land includes forests, woodlands, marshes, swamps, lakes, and grasslands.
Busseron Creek is the largest addition to Indiana DNR-managed property since 2005, when the initial 7,998 acres of the Goose Pond Fish and Wildlife Area were officially acquired.
This permanently conserved land was once part of the former leased Minnehaha Fish and Wildlife Area.
